The RAC has predicted that the continuing petrol price plummet could bring the cost to lower than £1 per litre by early 2015, the lowest prices since May 2009. This will come as welcome news to caravanners, motorhome users and general motorists alike, with the number of motorists worried about fuel prices dropping by 16% over the past year (source: RAC). In Jersey, a number of garages are already selling petrol at below £1, with some as low as 98.9p per litre for unleaded fuel. The price drop has come from a plummet in the price of Brent crude oil to below $60 per barrel ? and shows no signs of stopping, with dominant oil company Opec announcing it will not cut production ?even if oil hits $40 a barrel?.
